Hi…again…so this is a series of posts…revolving around some of the movies that worth watching…to start…the first one in the series is the famous “The October Sky”..
the age of Cold war…Russians held an upper hand by launching first ever man made satellite “sputnik” into the space…While all others were busy spotting sputnik over the october sky in US thinking it as just another “strategy” in cold war,Homer Hickam , in a small town Coalwood, took an inspiration from it…inspiration to rise above the sky from the darkness of the coal mines..he n 3 others team up to build a rocket of their own..At times falling short of money and support…they tried hard..to rise out of the each failure..
For the sake of his family Homer worked at coal mines…bt only thing he could think of was rockets..he would work hard in the mines and still study about rockets late into the nights…guided by Miss Riley at school, he was determined to achieve his goal of building a rocket and winning the scholarship at science fair…that no one from his town could even dream of..
Struggling through the ups n downs in life at Coalwood they made it to the science fair and won scholarship at prestigious institutes…
this is a must watch movie..please do watch it…one of the most inspirational n motivating movie I have ever seen..
